Village women are primarily engaged in agricultural activities and livestock rearing, with many observed to be idle in the afternoons after completing household chores. Upon interacting with them, the team discovered their eagerness to work but identified a lack of confidence in initiating projects independently. They expressed a willingness to participate in initiatives led by our organization, UBA.
In response, our team explored various options and ultimately proposed a Candle Making Initiative, specifically timed during the Diwali festive season. We began by conducting a cost analysis and profit estimation to determine the feasibility of involving the women in this venture. The enthusiasm displayed by the women further motivated us to overcome challenges, and their valuable suggestions enhanced the project's possibilities. The primary objective of this initiative was to boost the confidence of these women, build trust with them, and provide financial benefits during the festive Diwali season.
