Orientation Program on Chala Januya Nadila (Know Our Rivers)
The College Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell organized an orientation program on Chala Januya Nadi la (Know Our Rivers) on March 14, 2023. The eminent scholar and environmentalist, Jalnayak Dr. Snehal Donde was the resource person. The program commenced with the felicitation of Jal Nayak Dr. Snehal Donde by the Principal Dr. Asha Menon. The Principal Madam welcomed the guest and appreciated the college UBA Cell for taking efforts to address the issue. She added that it is high time to take up such issues to save our nature. Dr. Snehal Donde briefed the students about an MoU between the college and the Chala Januya Nadila Campaign. She extensively talked about the environmental challenges and how it desperately needs serious attention. Through the interactive PPT and videos, Dr. Snehal Donde, explained her experiences and efforts to save the rivers from pollution.
The talk gradually progressed into providing detailed mitigation strategies that she had adopted over time and that were meant to equip people living in the ecosystem.
Dr. Snehal Donde explained about the Meethi River. She evaluated the importance of bio-enzymes in breaking down waste material or different sorts of pollution. The talk ended with a Q&A session. The event addressed the issue of river pollution and the various threats it placed before the ecosystem in various ways, while simultaneously sensitising the students about the impending danger for humanity if river pollution is not addressed in time. The vote of thanks was proposed by UBA Coordinator Dr. Vinod Zalte.
