Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering & Technology (Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh): Development of Digital Classrooms

The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan team at Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering & Technology (Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh) conducted a survey in Kowlur and Bhupanapadu villages of Kurnool district. During the survey, it was found that the government schools were not able to attract children from the villages due to lack of - good infrastructure, faculty, and education technology. To improve the situation, the UBA team at RGM College proposed implementation of Digital Classrooms in government schools. It will not only help students to learn the concepts digitally in an easy and effective way but will also encourage more students to join the school.

The UBA team established digital classrooms in the remotely located schools of both adopted villages. All the essential requirements including CPU, Monitor, Projector and other items were provided to the school for the digital classroom. An orientation program was also organised in the presence of Mondal Educational Officer, the school headmaster, Principal of RGM College of Engineering and Technology, Gram Panchayat people, students, and other experts. In the orientation program, the students were informed about the importance of establishing the digital classroom. The villagers and students of both the villages were very happy after establishing the digital classroom for their children will now be able to learn the concepts on par with the children studying in private schools. They appreciated Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and RGM College of Engineering and Technology for their involvement in the successful establishment of Digital classrooms.
