In line with the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Government of India launched Swachhata hi Sewa (SHS) 2023, a significant nationwide campaign dedicated to the cause of cleanliness and sanitation. The SHS 2023 campaign extended from October 01, 2023, to October 30, 2023, encompassing a three-phase approach. The campaign, known as 'Special Campaign 3.0,' was designed to promote cleanliness and hygiene across the nation, with distinct phases, including a preparatory phase from September 15 to September 30, the launch and implementation phase from October 02 to October 31, and an evaluation phase from November 14 to November 30, 2023. To pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, a grand cleanliness drive was organized on October 01, 2023, at 10:00 AM, uniting people across the country. In this spirit, IIT Roorkee actively participated in these swachhata activities, with a special focus on cleanliness drives in the adopted villages of Puranpur and Meerpur, embodying the essence of community engagement and social responsibility.
