Equipmentandmachineryrequired

    • Ultrasonicsensor
    • IRSensor
    • WasteChambers
    • Smart bin
    • Arduinoboard
    • FertilizerGenerationUnit

Duration tothefirstoutput afterinstallation:6 Months

Resources required (raw material, energy, water etc.) for operationalization ofthe technology:

Wetwaste(Vegetablewaste,rottenfruits,foodwaste,food-soiledpaper,non-hazardouswood waste, green waste, and landscape and pruning waste).

Progress of theProject forSix Months:

Theproposedprojectisdividedintotwomodules.

  • Module1is usedtosegregatethebiodegradableandnon-biodegradablewastes
  • Module2is usedto convertbiodegradablewasteintofertilizer.
  • Module1:Segregation ofbiodegradableand non-biodegradablewastes

Insmartbin,biodegradableandnon-biodegradablewastesaresegregatedwhichwasdisposed from the household wastes and the agricultural wastes are separated as a natural waste and converted into a fertilizer which is tobe used as a chemical free fertilizer. In this project, the processisgoingtoseparateadumpedwasteintonaturalwaste, metalwasteandplasticwaste, which means the natural waste, metal waste and plastic waste are separated in the separate chamber, metal waste are separated in the individual chambers. Then the organic waste is converted in to fertilizer.

The prototype is tested to separate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes and is shown in the below figures 1,2 & 3.

Module2:ConversionofSegregatedBiodegradablewasteintoFertilizer

The heating method is used for, to heat the wet biodegradable wastes and converts into dry biodegradablewasteswhich iseasyto grind the wastesand converted as inpowdered form of organic fertilizer. For heating method Spring Heating Element Coil is used. It is fixed around thecontainertoheatthebiodegradablewastes.Whenthewetbiodegradablewastesarechanged into dry condition, it automatically stops the heating process. The dried biodegradable wastes are grinded to make a powdered organic fertilizer with the help of DC motor for rotation and blade for grinds the dry biodegradable wastes to form a fertilizer and is shown in Figure 4.
